    (1)卧式泵:是比较普遍的结构型式，使用比较广泛。其泵的结构简单，使用可靠，对多级泵使用平衡盘平衡轴向力时只能选用卧式结构。
    (2)立式泵:安装面积小，可减少泵站的面积，降低造价，所以一般船用泵采用立式结构较多。
    (3) 立式浸没泵:不但占地面积小，并且泵的起动不需要灌液或抽真空，较适合于无人看管的自动控制下使用: 并且不易产生气性。其缺点是结构较复杂，维修较困难，易腐蚀，泵的寿命短。

(4)立式管道泵: 因为泵的吸入、吐出口在同一水平线上， 所以特别适合于管道中的安装，并且占地面积较小。

(5)潜水泵:是将泵和电机一起放入水中运行，所以安装简单方便，使用也很方便，泵启动前不需要灌泵或抽真空，因泵在液下，不易发生汽蚀。它的缺点是泵的寿命相对较短，维修较困难。
